Tile roofs are a Green Building Material

A Community of green roofs

What makes a tile roof a Green Building Material.

1. Durable

  • Tile roof is warranted for about 75 years depending on the manufacturer.
  • Many last as long as 100 years or more.
  • 3 to 5 times as durable as shingle, concrete, synthetic or metal roofs.

2. Natural

  • Made of clay and water.
  • Like pottery, bricks and other ceramic products have been made over the past 6,000 years.

3. Recyclable

  • Crushed tiles can serve for road sublayers and other construction purposes.
  • Tiles are inert and innocuous: they do not harm the environment.

4. Energy Efficient

  • Tile on a roof act like bricks on a wall: they create a thermal barrier that keeps the energy generated inside the building, in the building.
  • Clay roof tiles make a building more energy-efficient.

5. Superior Integrity

  • Colors will not fade.
  • Product will not degrade.
  • Water runoff is clean.

6. Looks very good

That is why I like it.

Give it a chance for your next project.
